Video is one of the top priorities in Cisco and a key differentiator in Enterprise. MXABU delivers the promise of providing "Capture, Transform and Share" in the Enterprise. Video has already taken off in the Consumer market, but in the Enterprise, the growth in the next several years will change the way we do business today. Our products enable "Any to Any" media transformation, recording, streaming and analytic processing making media more readily available on any device, at any time and in any format and more easily consumed. The ideal candidate is excellent in C/C++ programming, has a strong background programming in Unix/Linux OS, and is excited by the challenge of delivering cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, startup environment. A solid understanding of event driven programming, state models, OO Design experience is important. Hands-on experience in building a highly-available (HA) distributed system is highly desirable.Job Responsibilities:- Participate on the SW team to design and implement the application and control modules of the media gateway product. - Work closely with the other SW teams to integrate the module with the application and media processing modules.- Follow required software engineering initiatives and processes.- Integrate high availability framework and event/messaging infrastructure.- Work closely with QA to design and develop unit and integration tests- Participate in the overall SW team to release on schedule a high quality, highly available, highly scalable media processing gateway.Job requirements:The successful applicant must have a proven track record of bringing products to market, and should possess the following particular skills and experience:- 4-6 years of experience working as a SW engineer with a hi-tech company- Strong C/C++- Experience with Unix/Linux - Real-time and multi-threaded programming experience- Experience with developing event based programming models highly desirable- Experience with inter-process communication and mutexes required- Experience with media certainly a plus- Should possess strong debugging experience (GDB) in a real-time environment- Experience with performance tools highly desirable- Experience with high availability and highly distributed systems a plus- Familiar with object oriented design methodology- Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills- Good communication skills (written and verbal).- Familiar with Clearcase or other SCM systems - Strong team playerEducationBS/MS in Computer Science or related field required Desired Attributes Profession: Computer Engineering and Information Technology -> Software Design/Development Application Types: Application development tools Operating Systems: UNIX/Linux Programming Languages: C Programming Languages: C++ Level of Experience: Individual contributor Industry: IT/Technology/Electronics
