(SAIC) / MSBU is presently seeking a nonimmigrant for the position of Machine Translation Engineer for our Human Language Technology Division, and occupational classification code 019.SAIC's product offerings include hybrid machine translation (HMT) and automatic speech recognition (ASR), automated media monitoring for broadcast and telephony speech, speech-to-speech applications, multilingual information retrieval, name-finding applications; and knowledge management.Our experience spans document processing, knowledge management, data discovery, data triage, media analysis, monitoring, and translation to provide a more powerful set of solutions to enhance productivity and add value across our language service engagements.SAIC's ability to leverage our strengths in language and technology powers innovative solutions greater than the sum of their parts that provide greater value to our clients.The HUMAN LANGUAGE Technology Division at SAIC is engaged in a wide range of information-processing-related projects focusing on speech and language processing, and text processing.JOB DESCRIPTION:This group's speech and language processing R&D efforts include speech recognition, speaker recognition (identification, verification, and authentication), language and dialect identification, word spotting, speech coding, speech and audio signal enhancement, and machine translation.The successful candidate will work with our team on research, technology development, and applications in machine translation and human language technology.The objective is to research and develop machine translation technology for various language pairs, domains, and environments.Research expertise and experience in the following areas are preferred: speech recognition using statistical models, extracting information from speech and text, and experimenting with large corpora for developing and testing advanced algorithms.Some foreign language knowledge is desirable.EDUCATION:Masters or PhD in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science or related field.Requirements::Candidates should have knowledge and experience in computational linguistics; probability theory; machine translation; and C, C++, Java, Perl, and Python programming.
